What to Expect When You Visit

Expect Community...
When you attend Legacy, you will be welcomed and accepted. We are a friendly and caring church--it's in our DNA.  In fact, a good description of what a "church" is, is "family."  The church is the family of God.  Here, we invite you to make yourself at home.

Expect Heartfelt Singing...
People often ask if a church's music is "traditional" or "contemporary."  We are both and neither.  We are a multi-generational church which helps us appreciate a broad palette of musical taste and tradition. We praise God and encourage one another using hymns, choruses, contemporary Christian music, and even a Southern Gospel song sneaks in occasionally.  What matters is the heart and purpose, not the style of music.

Expect Biblical Teaching...
Our pastor, teachers, and groups leaders faithfully teach the Word of God.  The Bible is God's letter to us explaining Who He is, His love for us, and His instructions for how to live significant lives.  It is timeless and relevant, describing God’s grand redemptive plan.  We are not afraid of tough questions, but welcome them as we search for truth with the Bible as our authority and guide.

Expect Encouragement...
Max Lucado said it well, "God accepts us just as we are, but He loves us too much to leave us that way. He wants us to become just like Jesus."  We strive toward this with teaching and preaching that is both encouraging and challenging, comforting and convicting.  We also encourage everyone to get involved in smaller groups and mentoring relationships where they can experience deeper community and life-giving relationships.

How should I dress?
Any given Sunday at Legacy you will find people dressing up and dressing down. We don't want clothing to hinder anyone from attending church. So, come as you are. At the same time, be mindful that worship is a special occasion to honor God, so we would encourage you to dress in a way that is respectful of Him and others.
